Every winter on the North Shore of Oahu the Waimea river due to the heavy rains flood the valley. Some of the local surfers and other enthusiasts dug out a path for the water to flow and create standing wave. The dig takes around three hours of digging before they can start surfing. One of the many surfers getting their boards in the shallow Waimea River peak was Jamie O’Brien. This wonderful sandy wipeouts and perfect rides kept surfers on the spot till midnight.
